History

The tradition of Snow Polo in its current form can be traced back to 1986 where the first official tournament was held in St. Moritz, Switzerland. To this day, with sponsors as prestigious as Veuve Clicquot, Ralph Lauren and BMW, the St-Moritz tournament is still considered the reference for this discipline and one of the most exclusive events in Europe. Attracting over 15,000 spectators annually, it is, without a doubt, the highlight of the St. Moritz winter season.

Inspired by the Swiss success, the sport rapidly reached other countries and events are now being held in prestigious locations such as Aspen, CO, Cortina, Italy and Tianjin, China where crowds have been known to reach over 10,000 people.

This year, Mont-Tremblant is proud to host the third edition of this Canadian Snow Polo tournament, in March 2017. Four teams of international polo players will compete for the title in a 2-day competition.
